Überblick: Ta-wei substitutes Chi-yung as the soloist in the competition. Although the result is far from ideal, he fortunately can enter into semi-final. However, their happiness is tarnished by Tzu-fan's withdrawal. Shun- shing calms him down and persuades him to reconsider his withdrawal. Ho-chu worries very much since Chi-yung does not return home throughout the night. She then goes out to search for him.
